LET ME SHOW YOU SOMETHING
Put in your own starting amount and watch what happens over 20 rounds.
We’ll use 5% over 20 rounds to show you how the math of compounding works.
Watch that 5%. It’s getting bigger too.
PAUSE HERE
The first 5% gave you $5.00.
But that next 5%? It was not working from your original $100.00.
It was working from $105.00.
That’s why the next 5% became $5.25.
See what happened? Your money started building on money that was already there.
THAT is compounding.
Simple when you can actually SEE it, right? 😂
20 ROUNDS LATER
You were not adding the same dollar amount over and over.
Each round started with what was already there.
So the base kept growing. And when the base grew, that same 5% became more actual dollars.
That’s the part a lot of people never really get to SEE.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Most of us were taught how to work for money. Go to work. Get paid. Pay the bills. Save what you can. Then do it again.
But nobody really sat us down and showed us some of the financial ideas behind it.
Compounding is one of them.
This is why I care so much about financial education.
I don’t just want somebody telling you what to do with your money. I want you to understand what you’re looking at.
When you understand it for yourself, you can ask better questions and make more informed decisions.
THAT is a different kind of financial education.
The 5% used in this lesson is a math example designed to demonstrate compounding. It is not an earnings prediction, expected return, trading result, or promise of future performance.
A QUIET QUESTION
If nobody ever really sat down and showed you this, somebody you know may be in the same spot.
Did somebody come to mind?
PASS IT ON
Send it in YOUR voice. It does not need to sound like a marketing message. 😂
A QUIET QUESTION
If nobody ever really sat down and showed you this, somebody you know may be in the same spot.
That’s okay. Keep the part YOU learned.
KEEP GOING
Don’t stop with the 20 rounds. Keep learning together with my free Compounding for Teens + Adults resource.
We take the idea deeper so you can keep the conversation going at home and help your teen understand what they’re actually looking at.
